Not sure where to start with this post, except to say I’m glad August is over. It was a rough month (in my personal life) – but from here on — “it’s all good”.
That being said, I would like to take a moment to thank my family, my friends, and our JDS customers for their support and understanding. I know I haven’t been available as much as I would have liked to (by email, phone, twitter, facebook, or in person) and I unfortunately had to cancel our participation in a few shows this past month - and I sincerely apologize.
But rest assured, JDS is still here and we are ”coming back” strong!
We are looking forward to some great shows this September. We’re also excited that our jewelry and sock-monkeys will be available in a new gallery very soon (well, “new” for us!!) ! Plus, the planning for our holiday items has officially started : )
So – thank you everyone for your continued support of JDS. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Its been a few months since I posted here, and during that time, we at JDS have definitely been busy. Between creating jewelry and keeping our stock for shows, and working the actual shows, and keeping stock in the shops that carry our jewelry, plus the other jobs that also help pay bills, i feel like it hasnt stopped. Not to mention that my bf and i also got a 7 month old puppy. People said that getting a puppy is *kind of* like having a kid… yeah — i didnt believe them, until now.
Have i also mentioned that i am eternally grateful for everything? Though the list above might sound like im venting, i am so very lucky to have all that going on. Its definitely been a wild ride – with a lot of ups and downs – but I wouldnt change any of it. And just in the past few months JDS has grown significantly. We are working with a new studio that will soon be carrying our hair clips. We are trying to schedule new shows for the fall/winter. And we are working hard on the new line of sock-monkeys and sock-bunnies (which people really seem to like! : ) )
So, thats a short and sweet version of whats happening here at JDS. Once i finally figure out the correct life/work balance, i hopefully will be returning to the “normal” world of the living… (and might actually keep in better touch with family and friends : ) )
It’s official!
Jeneration Design Studio now carries a new line of items: sock monkeys! And this new line of cute, colorful creatures goes by the name of “Sweet Squishies”.
In the next few weeks/months… we will be launching our new etsy store (Sweet Squishies by Jeneration Design Studio) full of the colorful sock monkeys (and other animals) that you may have seen around. They have been known to appear in pictures on facebook, and at shows – whether completed or not.
We are still keeping Jeneration Design Studio’s catalog stock full of the jewelry and accessories that you have grown to love, or at least like a bit (we hope! 
)… and we will continue to bring you new, fun jewelry!! But we are also very excited about this new line of items that we can offer. The monkeys are just a new way for us to provide you with colorful, handmade, high-quality products.
(oh, and have we mentioned each sock-monkey is hand-made and hand-sewn with love?!)
I would just like to take a moment and thank everyone for the support they have shown, whether you are a vendor who we met at one of the past shows, a member of the local handmade community, a friend or family member, or whether you are a past customer or (hopefully!) a future customer of ours.
As many of you know, its tough to run your own business. And its even tougher when you jump into things not really ”comprehending” how bad it might actually be at times. But knowing we have so much support helps get through the rough days.
And do not worry — this is not a post about the end of JDS — it may in fact be the opposite! This is about the refocusing of JDS and the new trouble we will be getting into.
From now on, JDS will not only be known for its jewelry and accessories, but we hope to also be known for our print design (invitations, stationary, business cards, etc.).
And it might be a little early for this – but, heck, why not let you in on another little secret — we will soon be starting a new line of plushies! It will begin with sock monkeys… but will go MUCH further…. : )
So, keep your eyes out for more announcements. Once our print design shop is open on etsy, we will let you know. And once we wrangle up the monkeys – we will let you know as well : )
